March 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Several diplomats accredited to Belarus have honored its prisoners in a joint statement posted to social media ahead of International Women’s Day, March 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diplomats say they remember the 150 women political prisoners, including Viktoryja Kul\u0161a and Alena Hnauk, who have serious health problems but don’t receive the necessary medical care. They add that this is inhumane and demand immediate medical attention and freedom for all political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement was posted on social media of the diplomatic missions of the European Union, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, France, Lithuania’s special envoy Asta Andrijauskien\u0117 and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The poor health of prisoners Viktoryja Kul\u0161a, Alena Hnauk and Volha Majorova was reported at a press conference in Vilnius on February 10 by former prisoner Palina \u0160arenda-Panasiuk. Human rights groups said all four were persecuted for political reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
