March 13, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and Russian President Vladimir Putin have signed in Moscow a protocol on the exchange of ratification instruments for a treaty on security guarantees in the Union State. The treaty, signed by the two leaders on December 6, has entered into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka and Putin also signed an accord to work toward protecting officials from persecution by foreign states and international justice institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk and Moscow plan to resist the politicization of international criminal justice cooperation and promote the enhancement of international laws concerning “the sovereign equality of states and the resulting immunity of state officials.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other documents signed include a protocol enabling Belarusians living permanently in Russia and Russians living permanently in Belarus to vote and run in local elections in the respective countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, \u0141uka\u0161enka’s visit yielded agreements on cooperation in the protection of intellectual property and equal consumer rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Belarus’ State Property Committee and Russia’s Federal Registration, Cadastre and Cartography Service agreed to share information for improving the Commonwealth of Independent States’ geoportal of spatial data infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
