March 16, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja’s adviser Franak Via\u010dorka has blamed Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka for the inclusion of Belarus in the list of countries whose citizens may be barred from the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US government \u201cis considering issuing sweeping travel restrictions for the citizens of dozens of countries,\u201d Reuters<\/em> reported yesterday, citing an internal memo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Countries such as Belarus and Turkmenistan may be subject to a partial suspension of US visa issuance if their governments “do not make efforts to address deficiencies within 60 days,” according to the memo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is clear that the USA is trying to tighten its anti-immigration policies, and restrictions against some fifty countries are on the table. But the very fact that we will end up among the rogue states is purely \u0141uka\u0161enka’s achievement,” Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was Minsk that cut the US embassy, denied accreditation to the US ambassador and declared a war on the civilized world with Putin,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, it is unclear what will change for the US visa applicants from Belarus. “Many of the announced measures have already existed. But we will talk to the US so that the new restrictions affect decent Belarusians as little as possible,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
