March 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian national Stanis\u0142a\u016d Brykin committed suicide at a detention center for asylum seekers in Lithuanian Pabrad\u0117 two weeks ago, Andrej Stry\u017eak of the BySol Solidarity Foundation has said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, Brykin participated in the postelection protests in Belarus and was forced to flee the country later together with his family, fearing politically-motivated persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brykin’s decision to take his own life may be linked to his wife’s decision to return to Belarus, where she starred in a propaganda documentary recently aired by a state-run TV channel. The piece denigrates the experiences of Belarusian political exiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
