March 20, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Homiel border group has opened a new border patrol station, Siamiona\u016dka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State Border Committee (SBC) reports that its head, Kanstancin Mo\u0142asta\u016d, Homiel Region Executive Committee chairman Ivan Krupko and the region’s Orthodox Archbishop Stefan took part in the opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mo\u0142asta\u016d said Siamiona\u016dka is “the second of the six border posts that are being built at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border section under the state investment program. Their commissioning is planned for next year.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post commander D\u017amitryj Kalada said the unit has modern weapons, drones, and anti-drone equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 11, the SBC announced the opening of the Naro\u016dla border patrol station at the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1,084.2-km-long Belarusian-Ukrainian border crosses the Chernobyl exclusion zone and covers several important rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, in which the Belarusian government sided with the Kremlin. Russian troops launched an offensive on Kyiv from Belarus. After liberating northern Ukraine, Kyiv\u2019s troops have started mining areas by the Belarusian border and building defense facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
