March 24, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The opening of the Belarusian pro-democracy forces’ office in Tallinn, Estonia, is a crucial step to bring Belarusians and Estonians closer together and “an investment in our common European future,” Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja said at the ceremony today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician said this is the fourth mission of the Belarusian pro-democracy forces in Europe. Previously, they opened these offices in Vilnius, Brussels and Prague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today, Estonia is helping Belarusians and Ukrainians to fight Russian imperialism. After [Alaksandar] \u0141uka\u0161enka’s violent seizure of power in 2020, Estonia took in hundreds of Belarusian political refugees. Many have stayed in Estonia and contributed to the country’s economy, society and democracy. We are very grateful that you lend us a helping hand in these difficult times,” Cichano\u016dskaja stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposition leader expressed confidence that opening the mission in Tallinn will result in “closer coordination.” “This way, we can facilitate legalizing and integrating Belarusians in Estonia,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her visit to Tallinn, Cichano\u016dskaja will negotiate with the foreign minister, the president of Parliament and the mayor of the Estonian capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian opposition leader last visited Estonia on November 18\u201319, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
