March 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Ukrainian parliament’s cross-factional group For a Democratic Belarus has called on the government to sever diplomatic relations with Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime, MP Oleksii Honcharenko announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement posted to Honcharenko’s Telegram channel, the group said: “The Kremlin’s puppet \u0142uka\u0161enka has decided not to defend his citizens but to become an accomplice in russia’s war crimes: he provides Belarusian territory to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities and uses the lack of diplomatic and economic isolation for Belarus as a ‘window into the civilized world’ for Russia.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group also called for recognizing Belarus an occupied territory and transferring its embassy in Kyiv to Belarusian pro-democracy forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it urged the international community to go beyond declarations of support for the pro-democracy forces and come up with specific solutions, such as stronger sanctions on the regime and “a complete diplomatic and economic isolation of Minsk.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It asserted that true independence is born in battle and honored Belarusian volunteer units fighting against Russia. In particular, it called the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment “the future of a truly independent Belarus.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
