March 28, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> An appeals court in Pozna\u0144 has imposed a longer sentence on a convicted Belarusian spy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TVN24<\/em> reported that the judge “increased the length of Andrej R’s sentence to four years. As for D\u017amitryj N, who had been acquitted without a final judgment, the court dismissed that decision and referred the case to the district court for retrial.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trial was held behind closed doors and led to the conclusion that the first defendant was indeed a full-time Belarusian military intelligence officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April 2024, a court in Pozna\u0144 sentenced Andrej R to three years, finding him guilty of spying for Minsk. The prosecutors had requested a five-year sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court noted limited evidence but attributed it to the defendant’s high professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closed-door trial started in October 2023. The investigators said the men came to Poland to work as drivers, but their primary goal was to monitor military and civilian facilities critical for the country’s defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
