March 31, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian authorities have seized the family home from exiled journalist and media manager Alaksiej Dzikavicki in Pinsk, Brest region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe one on the corner of Gogol and Praletarskaja streets, where our whole family lived. . .  from where I left for 35 years ago to go to university. . . The one where my grandmother died,\u201d he said on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When democracy wins in Belarus, all illegally seized properties will be returned to their rightful owners, while perpetrators of these crimes will be held accountable in accordance with the law, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dzikavicki heads the Belarus Tomorrow<\/em> streaming service after resigning as the Warsaw-based Belsat<\/em> TV CEO last November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities in Minsk branded the latter station, broadcasting for the Belarusian audience, as an extremist group in the crackdown on independent media outlets that followed the 2020 postelection protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last October, authorities seized Dzikavicki\u2019s countryside house in the Pinsk district. The journalist still does not know what charges have been filed against him in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
