April 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Deepak Kumar from the Indian state of Punjab went missing in Belarus last summer on his way to the European Union, The Indian Express<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was to reach Portugal via the Netherlands and other countries but disappeared on July 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, police opened a case against travel agents who promised to arrange a Schengen visa via the Netherlands for Rs 11.50 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Kumar’s father, he flew to Russia via Dubai and expected a flight to the Netherlands but was sent to Belarus instead. “The agent’s men also snatched the passport and US dollars 1500 from my son,” the father said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that after the son went missing, a travel agent said Kumar had been detained while illegally crossing the border and would soon be deported. Despite this assurance, Kumar has never shown up in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, the traveler objected to taking the illegal route, but the agents calmed him down, saying they had “setting with Russian Army.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The travel agents have locked their house and are missing,” the father told The Indian Express<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
