April 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian officers have resorted to direct provocation and aggressive actions near the border recently, Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the minister, 11,000 people are guarding the frontier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remarks come hours after the ministry’s spokesman, Jacek Dobrzy\u0144ski, reported a new attempt to cross into the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The border near Mielnik. Several dozen people are trying to break the fence in an attempt to illegally enter Poland. When a Border Guard patrol appears, the attackers start throwing stones at the approaching car. In the group of aggressors, the camera captures a Belarusian uniformed officer, who is also attacking our uniformed officers with stones,” he said on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dobrzy\u0144ski posted two short videos of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Poland had introduced a no-go zone and restricted migrants’ right to apply for asylum at the border with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European officials consider the migration crisis at the Belarus-EU border, which has been ongoing since the spring of 2021, a “hybrid attack” by the Minsk and Moscow regimes. In 2024, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland stopped over 36,000 attempts to sneak in from Belarusian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
