April 16, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine joined the European Union\u2019s sanctions on 25 individuals and seven entities in Belarus, the Council of the EU reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group pledged to ensure that their national policies conform to the Council decision, while the EU took note of this commitment and welcomed it. Of the eight, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Ukraine have already announced their EU accession bids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanctions were introduced on March 27 over the current situation in Belarus and Minsk’s involvement in the Russian aggression against Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restrictions target the Belarusian Central Election Commission (CEC), the Minsk-based Intehra\u0142 microchip factory, Bie\u0142aruskija \u0141aterei (Belarusian Lotteries), the online gambling company Ridotto, the Minsk-based P\u0142anar microelectronics factory, the Minsk-based Precision Electronic and Mechanical Equipment Plant and the agriculture company Cybulka-Bie\u0142.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the media linked Cybulka-Bie\u0142 to German right-wing politician J\u00f6rg Dornau, suspected of using Belarusian political prisoners\u2019 labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sanctions cover CEC members Alaksiej Ba\u0161an, Alena Ba\u0142do\u016dskaja, Dzianis Duk, Alena Kuncevi\u010d, Alaksandar Tka\u010do\u016d, Kaciaryna Fiedasienka and Alaksandar Ju\u017eyk and managers of the aforementioned companies: D\u017amitry \u0160viadko (Ridotto), Michai\u0142 Dzienisienka (Belarusian Lotteries) and Jury \u010corny (Precision Electronic and Mechanical Equipment Plant).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU also named Bie\u0142aja Ru\u015b party leader Aleh Ramana\u016d, the Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka administration\u2019s property manager Jury Nazara\u016d and his deputies Mika\u0142aj \u0160kred, Anton Kraje\u016dski and Mika\u0142aj Raha\u0161\u010duk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the EU targeted judges Anastasija Papko, Aleh Kalada, Siarhiej Budrevi\u010d, \u017danna Brysina, Alena Bu\u0161ava, A\u0142a Skuratovi\u010d, Andrej Vasiluk, Dzina Ku\u010duk and Halina Bonda\u0142.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the regulation, the EU sanctions list includes 312 individuals and 47 entities in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
