Davis (Fisher) has been appointed Charg\u00e9 d&#8217;Affaires ad interim to Ukraine and will take up her duties on May 5, the US Embassy in Ukraine said on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Davis will reportedly serve in this role until US President Donald Trump nominates an ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe will work tirelessly to end the war and stop the bloodshed while strengthening the bilateral relationship making both America and Ukraine safer, stronger, and more prosperous,\u201d the announcement noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to her appointment to Kyiv, Davis represented Washington in Cyprus and served as ambassador and special envoy for Belarus until June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2020, the diplomat had worked in Vilnius, as the Belarusian foreign ministry withdrew consent to her appointment as ambassador to Minsk.
