May 5, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The interior ministry’s forces and internal troops will be on high alert on May 9, when Belarus will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, top police official Alaksandar Kup\u010denia has told journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 3,5000 rescuers and 1,300 vehicles will be on standby, Ihar Hulakievi\u010d of the emergency management ministry noted. About 800 rescuers and 150 vehicles will be on duty in the areas where mass events will be taking place, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some 780 ambulance crews will be on round-the-clock duty across Belarus with 40 deployed at the military parade and other venues in Minsk, said Alaksandar Dubanievi\u010d, deputy chief physician of Minsk\u2019s emergency service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian government plans grand celebrations of Victory Day with more than 24 ceremonial units and aircraft expected to participate in the parade. Minsk invited military units from Russia, China, as well as troops from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka will also attend May 9 celebrations in Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
