{"id":138174,"date":"2025-05-15T12:07:37","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T09:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/138174\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"bialorus-liberty-files-fraud-complaint-against-missing-activist-mielnikava","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/138174\/","title":{"rendered":"Bialoru\u015b Liberty files fraud complaint against missing activist Mielnikava"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>May 15, <em>Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The Bialoru\u015b Liberty Foundation linked to the anonymous Cyberpartisans hacktivist group, filed a fraud complaint with the Polish law enforcement authorities, Julijana \u0160emietaviec, a spokeswoman for the group, told <em>Deutsche Welle<\/em> yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days ago, Cyberpartisans discovered that An\u017ealika Mielnikava, a Belarusian opposition politician who went missing about two months ago, misappropriated $150,000 in Bia\u0142oru\u015b Liberty\u2019s funds, which she managed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Law enforcers may block the foundation&#8217;s account during the investigation, \u0160emietaviec said, noting that Cyberpartisans \u201cdo not want to speculate&#8221; on Mielnikava&#8217;s disappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe don&#8217;t have the facts. We don&#8217;t understand exactly the motives [of her actions]. We like to operate only with the facts. [Today] we know for sure that the money was stolen, which most likely indicates that she was not kidnapped,\u201d the activist noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mielnikava had not contacted her associates since March 25. Last week, <em>The Insider<\/em> and <em>Polityka<\/em> reported that she travelled to Dubai from Sri Lanka on March 7 together with her daughters, who may be now staying in Belarus together with their father. Mielnikava\u2019s current whereabouts remain unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poland\u2019s Internal Security Agency (ABW) is investigating her disappearance at the prosecutors&#8217; request.
