May 24, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> New cases of politically-motivated persecution were documented in Belarus on May 22 and 23 as an IT company employee was sentenced to a restricted freedom term in home confinement on protest-related charges after her return from abroad, dev.by<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information ministry announced extremist content designations for a song about Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka; buslenok<\/em> and KiserVsejaRusi <\/em>on TikTok,\u00a0Instagram and TikTok pages by opposition politician Anatol Labied\u017aka, GRIFON501 Chat<\/em> on Telegram, dzia_k <\/em>and cabinetsocial<\/em> on Instagram as well as Cameroon\u2019s Snake Island Incident\u00a0coin, dedicated to the defense of Ukraine\u2019s Snake Island. Belarusian authorities also blacklisted The Murder on the Makajonka Street <\/em>detective book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities auctioned off the 25-year-old car of exiled activist Je\u017ey Hryhien\u010da, convicted of extremism without being present at the trial, according to e-auction.by<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of May 24, human rights defenders identified at least 1,187 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
