May 29, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>The import intensity of GDP rose to 66.9 percent in January\u2013March 2025, the Belarusian National Bank reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ratio amounted to 61.1 percent in January and 66.2 percent in January\u2013February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The import intensity of GDP is the ratio of a country’s imports to its GDP. The greater the imports, the lower the added value of the produced goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the central bank, foreign trade in goods and services reached $23.47 billion in the first quarter, 1.8 percent more than in the same frame last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exports amounted to $11.42 billion, imports to $12.48 billion and the negative balance to $625 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian economy grew by 2.8 percent y\/y in the first third of 2025, according to earlier reports. Its volume was estimated at 81.36 billion rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the 2025 targets approved by Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, GDP should grow by 4.1 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Eurasian Development Bank experts forecast in a macroeconomic report that the Belarusian economic growth will slow down to 2.6 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
