It is the ill-considered and irresponsible actions of the EU and its allies that have created a real threat of a food crisis on the planet,&#8221; it said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foreign ministry said the sanctions were &#8220;a continuation of the EU&#8217;s unfriendly policy&#8221; and &#8220;another attempt at blatant interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry also accused the bloc of &#8220;cynically promoting its own narrow geopolitical interests&#8221; and violating international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 3, the EU sanctioned 38 people and three companies from Belarus: the Minsk Electrotechnical Plant, Belarusian Steel Works and oil and petrochemical giant Bie\u0142naftachim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EU linked new restrictions to &#8220;the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the Russian aggression against Ukraine.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctions include an extended export ban on dual-use goods and technologies as well as a prohibition of sale, supply, transfer or export of firearms and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minsk said it reserved the right to retaliate, warning that &#8220;any external attempts to limit the development of our country are doomed to failure.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 4,&nbsp;BPN.&nbsp;The Belarusian foreign ministry has condemned the new sanctions imposed by the European Union, saying they can have a negative impact on everyone, including their initiators. &#8220;Those who work in agriculture and food production around the world can best tell about the consequences of sanctions.
