June 9, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The number of Europeans who used the visa waiver program to visit Belarus rose to 5,020 in the first week of June after 4,519 reported in the last week of May, the State Border Committee said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This number included 1,799 Lithuanians, 1,756 Latvians and Latvia’s aliens, 498 Poles and 967 nationals of other European countries. Aliens (nepilso\u0146i) is a special status given to former USSR citizens remaining in Latvia without any voting rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 1,121,030 European residents have visited Belarus under the visa waiver introduced in mid-April 2022 for Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and extended to 35 European countries in 2024. More than one million arrived from Belarus’ western neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late 2024, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka extended the visa waiver for European nationals until December 31, 2025. The program covers trips of up to 30 days via all checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
