June 10, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Russia and Ukraine have swapped more prisoners of war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some wounded and seriously ill soldiers returned to Ukraine, he said. All of them needed immediate medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zelensky called the exchange an important humanitarian act and called for the continuation of the swaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyiv does everything possible to free all captives, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The swap was organized in line with the Istanbul agreements of June 2, said the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The released captives included the defenders of Mariupol, who had spent more than three years in captivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine has not specified their number, citing safety concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moscow also did not disclose the figure. It said the freed Russian soldiers were receiving \u201cthe necessary psychological and medical assistance\u201d in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radyjo Svaboda<\/em> said that those released by Ukraine included Ja\u016dhien Kamia\u0144ko\u016d, a Belarusian man from Babrujsk, Mahilo\u016d region. In July 2022, Belarus put him on a wanted list after he and a 13-year old boy left a monastery in Brest for Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners under 25 years of age in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
