June 11, Pozirk<\/strong>. MP D\u017amitryj \u0160a\u016dco\u016d, secretary general of the Belarusian Red Cross (BRC), is one of the 46 individuals recently sanctioned by Kyiv, according to Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s edict, signed yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0160a\u016dco\u016d is known for supporting Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine, and was accused of involvement in the forced transfers of Ukrainian children. His remarks about Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus and activities in Russian-occupied territory had created a stir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official was included in the 13th sanctions package of the European Union and is also subject to restrictions by Australia, New Zealand and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) suspended the BRC as a member in late 2023 for failing to comply with the demand to dismiss \u0160a\u016dco\u016d for his involvement in alleged transfers of Ukrainian children to Belarus for indoctrination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
