{"id":143369,"date":"2025-06-20T11:30:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T08:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/143369\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"government-tightens-control-over-meat-dairy-candy-prices","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/143369\/","title":{"rendered":"Government tightens control over meat, dairy, candy prices"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>June 20, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian retailers have been banned from raising prices for meat, dairy and sweets without approval of the government\u2019s price controls commission, under the Council of Ministers Directive No. 341 adopted yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The document that has been published the National Legal Internet Portal and entered into force today amends an earlier directive from October 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the new regulation, the commission\u2019s approval is required for price increases above 0.3 percent per month to prevent \u201cprofiteering and unjustified price hikes,\u201d the Council of Ministers press office said. The regulation applied to both factory-gate and retail prices, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move comes after the government attempted to ease price controls in April by shortening the list of goods subject to controls by 36.3 percent, from 331 to 211 items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consumer prices rose by 0.7 percent in May and 7.1 percent in the 12 months to May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/ru\/news\/142175\/\">\u0141uka\u0161enka links potato shortage to discontent with price controls<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 20, Pozirk.
