{"id":143441,"date":"2025-06-20T18:02:56","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T15:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/143441\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"latvia-bars-eight-luxury-bikes-from-entering-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/143441\/","title":{"rendered":"Latvia bars eight luxury bikes from entering Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>June 20, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Officers of the Latvian State Revenue Service\u2019s customs department have denied permission for the export of eight motorcycles at the border with Belarus, finding them on the list of luxury goods subject to EU sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The service reported that after contacting the customs service in the consignee\u2019s country, officers had \u201creasonable\u201d doubts that the goods would transit to the Central Asian country and suspected that the motorcycles might be on their way to Belarus or Russia in circumvention of sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of luxury goods includes motorcycles worth over \u20ac5,000, as well as accessories and spare parts. The service considers pressing criminal charges against the consignor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first five months of 2025, the State Revenue Service denied permission for the export of 956 goods, 797 items subject to EU sanctions and 159 imports from Russia and Belarus to the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The export of luxury goods from the EU has been banned more than 30 times since the year\u2019s start.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 20, Pozirk.
