June 25, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarus and Cuba unanimously and consistently oppose \u201cunilateral restrictive measures in international politics and trade,\u201d Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelarus has experienced firsthand what illegal restrictive measures by certain unfriendly states are,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said, according to his press office. He denounced the US embargo against Cuba as \u201cunacceptable\u201d and \u201ccausing irreparable damage to the Cuban people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also talked about economic ties between the two countries, noting he sees good prospects for increasing joint production of agricultural equipment. New hardware could be supplied using leasing instruments, he suggested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMinsk and Havana have everything to move forward: political will, mutual understanding, full support of the heads of state and, perhaps most importantly, a long history of cooperation,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He expressed his willingness to visit Cuba, where he had already been in 2000, 2006 and 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the Belarusian leader\u2019s press office reported that D\u00edaz-Canel will attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk on June 27. Cuba has an observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the president\u2019s second visit to Minsk. The first one was in October 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
