{"id":144377,"date":"2025-06-27T14:03:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T11:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/144377\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"kgb-trying-to-infiltrate-georgia-based-belarusian-community","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/144377\/","title":{"rendered":"KGB trying to infiltrate Georgia-based Belarusian community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>June 27, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Unknown individuals have been offering cooperation to exiled Belarusians based in Georgia via the Telegram messaging app since June 18, offering help with \u201csolving their problems,\u201d exiled activist Maryna Zialonaja has told <em>Pozirk<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recipients are addressed by their real names and are asked to \u201cdiscuss a mutually beneficial proposal,\u201d while the senders disclose that their workplace address is at Niezale\u017ena\u015bci Ave 17, Minsk, where the headquarters of the Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This may be a part of a coordinated effort, Raman Ki\u015blak, a Belarusian human rights activist who fled from Brest to Georgia, told <em>Pozirk<\/em>. The goals may vary from identifying exiled activists for pressing politically-motivated criminal charges to recruiting agents and intimidating expats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such activities clearly indicate that the Belarusian security forces have stepped up their intimidation of the diaspora, including psychological pressure, he noted. Even if people do not respond to the messages, they still have a certain intimidating effect, according to Ki\u015blak. He dismissed a suggestion that messages were sent by scammers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, Belarusians living in Poland reported similar incidents.
