June 29, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Lithuania has detected migrant activity at the border with Belarus after six days of calm from June 22 to 27, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service reported. Eighteen irregular migrants tried to enter the country yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ninety attempts to violate the border from Belarus were documented since the month\u2019s start, a sharp decline compared with the 28 days of May 2025 and 28 days of June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the year’s start, Lithuanian border officers thwarted 890 attempts to cross the border from Belarus, a rise of more than 300 percent compared with the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latvia prevented 1,510 attempts and Poland 4,034 attempts this May. The three EU countries foiled 20,903 attempts since January 1, a decrease of 8.6 percent year on year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The migration crisis at the Belarusian-European border has been ongoing since the spring of 2021. Poland and the Baltic states call it a hybrid attack organized by Minsk and Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has repeatedly stated that Belarusian border guards will not stop asylum seekers heading for the European Union via Belarus. He claimed that Europe had invited them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
