June 29, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus will put into operation six new border outposts with cantonments by the year\u2019s end, State Border Committee (SBC) head Kanstancin Mo\u0142asta\u016d has told STV<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, two border outposts were built earlier in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the border with Ukraine, the SBC head said the situation was not alarming but tense, \u201cstarting with provocative actions [by Ukrainians] . . . and ending with the blocking of interstate interests.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn light of the situation, we have decided to increase the density of border protection in a planned way, primarily by forming new units, building new cantonments and border outposts in the southern sector,\u201d Mo\u0142asta\u016d said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked about contacts with Western colleagues, Mo\u0142asta\u016d said they used to have real meetings, but now the communication has been reduced to \u201cofficial correspondence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that when neighboring border services have \u201ctechnical questions,\u201d they are addressed, but \u201cnot in a way we would like.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf we met and discussed certain prospects or improvements in the past, we do not have this now. We know the situation very well, that many checkpoints have been closed. This affects not only the border guards but primarily the populations of the bordering states, cutting off their communication,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
