July 1, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>The parliamentary group For a Democratic Belarus has resumed its work in the German Bundestag, the Telegram channel linked to Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recent visit by Anatol Labied\u017aka, Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s advisor on parliamentary cooperation and constitutional reform, to Berlin was crucial in this regard, it noted. The Belarusian delegation also reportedly negotiated the extension of an internship program for Belarusian youth in the Bundestag. Last year, four Belarusians benefited from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group has a renewed composition following the February federal election, bringing together MPs from the Christian Democratic Union, Social Democrats and Greens. It plans a campaign in support of Belarusian political prisoners that may be timed to the birthday of Ale\u015b Bialacki, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and founder of the Viasna Human Rights Center, on September 25, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group is also planning a meeting this fall with representatives of Chernobyl initiatives and exiled Belarusians to discuss programs focusing on children\u2019s health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
