July 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d and Botswana\u2019s top diplomat Phenyo Butale have met in Minsk and agreed to work on creating a cooperation commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian foreign office released the ministers\u2019 joint statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBoth sides committed to intensifying the exchange of bilateral visits, including at the highest level, and stressed the need for active, results-oriented work to formulate a substantive agenda for these visits,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Ry\u017eanko\u016d and Butale agreed to hold the first round of ministerial consultations at the level of their deputies in Gaborone in 2026; to accelerate the drafting of a bilateral agreement on visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic and service (official) passports; and to strengthen cooperation at the UN and other international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Butale is in Belarus on July 1\u20134. He is expected to visit major industrial and agricultural companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 11, 2024, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka greeted the president of Botswana, Duma Boko, on his party\u2019s victory and his election to the highest office. \u0141uka\u0161enka noted \u201cprospects for cooperation in food security and technology transfer in the agro-industrial complex, mining industry and information and communication technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
