July 2, Pozirk.<\/strong> The Baltic states and Poland may be wiped off the map if they continue their current policies, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said yesterday in his address to an Independence Day rally in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician drew parallels with the Second World War, claiming that Germany is \u201conce again assuming the role of a regional military leader by deploying brigade-level ground forces near our borders,\u201d apparently referring to the deployment of a German anti-tank brigade in Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lithuania and Poland are busy entrenching themselves, with Warsaw buying up military equipment all over the world at the expense of the Polish taxpayers, he claimed. \u201cThey rush into new military alliances which are, in fact, hostile to us,” the Belarusian ruler added, accusing Americans and others of granting loans for these purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

France and Poland signed a treaty on deeper defense cooperation, with Warsaw planning a similar accord with the United Kingdom, \u0141uka\u0161enka said, noting that both France and the UK are nuclear powers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPoland and the Baltic states are letting themselves to be turned into yet another military training ground, after Ukraine,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said. \u201cThe West is not interested in our nearest neighbors in any other status. Did Germany create an army to fight on its soil? No. You see the proxy war in Ukraine. . . They want to fight on someone else’s land, in this case, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. If they [these countries] want to disappear from the world map once again, it will be their choice!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka and his officials support Russia\u2019s full-scale war on Ukraine, accusing the West of aggressive intentions towards Belarus without presenting any evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union countries have beefed up NATO\u2019s eastern flank, citing threats posed by Russia and Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
