Of those, 33 were sent for compulsory psychiatric treatment. These figures are from a report by the Viasna Human Rights Center for June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarusian rights defenders designated 29 people as political prisoners last month and 183 in the first six months. By the end of June, the number of political prisoners stood at 1,185. Since 2020, political prisoner status has been granted to 3,945 individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe total number of political prisoners is slowly decreasing due to the completion of prison sentences and pardons.
