July 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Some 175 attempts to enter Polish territory from Belarus were prevented between July 4 and 6, the Polish Border Guard has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It notes the \u201cextremely aggressive\u201d behavior of asylum seekers at at least two border posts: Czeremcha and Micha\u0142owo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreigners threw bottles, stones and a nail-studded rod at Polish patrols over the fence, but no one was injured, the report says. However, one service vehicle was damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency notes that migrants also tried to cross border rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, two Poles were detained after coming to the border to pick up foreigners who had illegally entered from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 14,600 attempts to violate the Polish-Belarusian border have been recorded since the beginning of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Minsk continues this practice, \u0141uka\u0161enka and his agencies will see in the coming days and weeks that Warsaw is ready to take very unpleasant and harsh retaliatory steps, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remarks came on the back of Tuesday\u2019s decision by the government of Poland to reintroduce controls at the borders with Lithuania and Germany on July 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw said that Vilnius and Riga were not doing enough to prevent undocumented migrants from entering the EU from Belarus. Once in the Baltics, migrants head west to Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
