{"id":145997,"date":"2025-07-09T12:47:52","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T09:47:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/145997\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"sanctioned-belarusian-steelmaker-drops-some-products-to-avoid-losses","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/145997\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanctioned Belarusian steelmaker drops some products to avoid losses"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>July 9, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ) has suspended \u201cproduction of some types of goods to avoid losses,\u201d Siarhiej Ciarlecki, in charge of the technology and quality assurance department, said at a recent meeting with workers at the \u017dlobin-based plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are operating in a stable manner, adapting to modern conditions, looking for new markets, developing and manufacturing new types of products, while reducing costs,\u201d the BMZ press office quoted him as saying. \u201cThe BMZ produced almost 1 million tons of steel by the end of the first half of 2025 . . . It&#8217;s not a bad result in the current realities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the BMZ management admitted the effects of western sanctions on several occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steelmaker faced challenges in early 2025 due to falling global prices for steel products, CEO D\u017amitryj Kor\u010dyk said in late June. Metalware production is struggling since Chinese car manufacturers entered the Russian market with their own hardware, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BMZ may consider layoffs amid a drop in steel cord exports, the CEO hinted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exiled intelligence group BelPol claims that BMZ is involved in the mass production of ammunition for the Russian army.
