July 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Western sanctions on Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime should be kept in place and expanded if needed, Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja and her recently released husband Siarhiej Cichano\u016dski argued<\/a> in a joint article for Il Foglio<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Punishing human rights abuses and securing justice for victims are crucial as impunity encourages more crimes, the article noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus will be free when the last prisoner walks free, the politicians stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
