Founded in 2012 in Hrodna, the band is now in exile and performs songs in Belarusian, focusing on historical themes. Dzieciuki recently performed in Poland\u2019s Gr\u00f3dek at a Belarusian cultural festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three weeks ago, the Committee for State Security (KGB) also blacklisted an education initiative established by exiled Belarusian academics, naming philosopher Volha \u0160paraha, Alaksandar Adamianc, Volha Pavuk and Viera Jesip\u010duk as members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative provides assistance to students and researchers affected by politically-motivated reprisals in Belarus, develops an education reform project and focuses on designing an independent educational space for the democratic Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days later, the KGB assigned the same designation to <em>Naviny Hrodna I Vobla\u015bci<\/em> on TikTok, claiming that Natalla \u0141antuch ran it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official register of \u201cextremist groups\u201d now has 299 entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many independent initiatives and media outlets were branded extremist groups for political reasons in Belarus after the disputed 2020 presidential election. Belarusian authorities routinely use terrorism and extremism designations to silence critical voices.
