{"id":1466,"date":"2023-08-15T14:10:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T11:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1466"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","slug":"belarus-defense-minister-claims-western-elites-seek-global-war-with-east","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/1466\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus\u2019 defense minister claims Western elites seek global war with East"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 15,&nbsp;<em>BP<\/em>N.<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8220;The proxy war unfolding in Ukraine has brought the planet to the brink of World War III,&#8221; Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin has told participants at the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He seized the opportunity to further the false claim that the West uses Ukraine to weaken Russia, completely ignoring the fact that Russian forces have invaded Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a surprise verbal attack, Chrenin accused the West of colonialism, the charge often used by critics of Russian expansion. He said that the West has colonized its own citizens and uses them as \u201chuman slaves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of &#8220;Washington-controlled&#8221; leaders behave &#8220;like medieval slave traders ready to throw their citizens into the meat grinder of war for money,&#8221; Chrenin charged, but would not elaborate on who started the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is &#8220;no doubt&#8221; that Western elites are &#8220;determined to wage a global war against the East,&#8221; he went on to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also accused the European elite of using the media to divide the Slavs and incite Europeans to kill their eastern neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine. Authorities in Minsk denied Belarusian army troops\u2019 involvement in combat operations on the Russian side.
