July 16, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Dzianis Ku\u010dynski, \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s diplomatic adviser, has met with Andrew Baker, the US deputy national security adviser to the vice president, at the White House to discuss steps to forge ties between the US government and the Belarusian pro-democracy forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s office reported that the negotiations also focused on ways to secure the release of Belarusian political prisoners, international pressure on the Belarusian regime and support for civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ku\u010dynski handed Baker Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s letter to US President Donald Trump. He also thanked the US government for securing the release of Belarusian political prisoners, including \u015aviat\u0142ana\u2019s husband Siarhiej Cichano\u016dski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe consultations in the White House were warm and productive. Andy Baker has a major influence and an important role in President Donald Trump\u2019s administration. This meeting is a significant step forward in our dialogue with the United States. We will continue this cooperation to free Belarusian political prisoners and bring about positive change in our country,\u201d Ku\u010dynski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
