{"id":147291,"date":"2025-07-18T11:56:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T08:56:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147291\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"klaipeda-terminal-keeps-up-pressure-on-lithuanian-government-to-resume-transit-of-belarus-fertilizers","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147291\/","title":{"rendered":"Klaip\u0117da terminal keeps up pressure on Lithuanian government to resume transit of Belarus\u2019 fertilizers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>July 18, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Klaip\u0117da-based Biri\u0173 Krovini\u0173 Terminalas (BKT), in which the Belarusian potash giant Bie\u0142aru\u015bkalij holds 30 percent, has offered Vilnius to resume fertilizer transit via Lithuania in exchange for dropping legal action, <em>BNS<\/em> reported, citing a letter by BKT CEO Ruslan Malinin to Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A compromise would allow Belarus and Lithuania to avoid further legal and political escalation, eliminate uncertainties and restore economic ties without undermining the EU sanctions, Malinin argued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lithuanian government has denied receiving this proposal, stressing that Belarusian fertilizer transits are out of the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bie\u0142aru\u015bkalij has been under the EU sanctions since 2021 over allegations of human rights abuses.
