July 18, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Committee for State Security (KGB) has added 11 more Belarusian citizens to the list of \u201cpersons involved in terrorist activities.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, in accordance with a Supreme Court decision, the United Transitional Cabinet (UTC) has been added to the list of \u201cterrorist organizations\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both lists were updated on July 16 and posted on the KGB\u2019s special Telegram channel on July 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201clist of terrorists\u201d features Rus\u0142an Li\u0144nik, A\u0142a Ju\u0161kievi\u010d and Valer \u017duka\u016d, convicted of inciting hatred; Andrej Bierastavy, Alena Rudaja and Kiry\u0142 \u015aliviec, convicted of calling for sanctions; and U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Bra\u016der, convicted of inciting hatred as well as calling for sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it now includes Kanstancin D\u017amitryje\u016d, Alaksiej Kiardol and Rus\u0142an Tupik, accused of inciting hatred; and Arkad\u017a Kaj\u010durenka, accused of both inciting hatred and calling for sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the interior ministry added Li\u0144nik, Bra\u016der, Ju\u0161kievi\u010d and Bierastavy to the list of \u201cpersons involved in extremist activities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Li\u0144nik was designated as a political prisoner; he was released in June this year. Ju\u0161kievi\u010d is also regarded as a political prisoner (according to human rights activists, she was also convicted of extremism).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 1,326 people on the \u201cterrorist list,\u201d including 629 Belarusian citizens. Prisoners declared \u201cterrorists\u201d are prohibited from receiving money transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to information in the list of \u201cterrorist organizations,\u201d \u201cCichano\u016dskaja S., \u0141atu\u0161ka P., Sacha\u0161\u010dyk V., Kavale\u016dski V., Azara\u016d A., Harbunova V., Ko\u016d\u0161yk-Pietrzyko\u016dska A., Mackievi\u010d V., Kaban\u010duk V. and Hubarevi\u010d V.\u201d are linked to the UTC. Notably, Valer Sacha\u0161\u010dyk, Valer Kavale\u016dski, Alaksandar Azara\u016d, Volha Harbunova and Alina Ko\u016d\u0161yk no longer serve in the opposition cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document names the UTC\u2019s legal address in Warsaw, stating that the organization was established on August 9, 2022. It claims that its members carry out and finance terrorist and extremist activities against Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Court declared the UTC a \u201cterrorist organization\u201d earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Belarusian authorities have often branded the activities of their political opponents inside and outside the country as \u201cextremism\u201d and \u201cterrorism.\u201d Citizens convicted for political reasons are often included in these lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
