July 20,<\/strong> Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>The Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) removed Ja\u016dhien Tru\u0161ko, Ivan Par\u0161yn and Jahor Michalenka from its terrorist register this week after blacklisting 11 individuals, the Brest branch of the Viasna Human Rights Center reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tru\u0161ko and Par\u0161yn had served two years in prison for allegedly insulting Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and inciting hatred, charges widely seen as politically motivated. Both were released two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michalenka, a former sound engineer of the Hrodna TV company, was reportedly convicted of inciting hatred, but rights defenders do not know his sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 1,326 people on the \u201cterrorist list,\u201d including 629 Belarusians. Prisoners declared \u201cterrorists\u201d are prohibited from receiving money transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Belarusian authorities have often branded the activities of their political opponents inside and outside the country as \u201cextremism\u201d and \u201cterrorism.\u201d Citizens persecuted for political reasons are often included in these lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
