July 21, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Minsk will reorient its diplomatic presence from the West to other countries willing to develop cooperation, such as Russia, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, governor of Russia’s Samara province, at their meeting in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are ready to redirect the pool of diplomats, which we have today, from the West to the East,” the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office quoted him as saying. \u201cThere are enough states in the world today that are happy to cooperate with us.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, democratic countries have imposed multiple restrictions on Belarus over human rights abuses, alleged vote rigging in the 2020 presidential election, a brutal crackdown on protesters, the forced landing of a Ryanair flight, a migration crisis at the European Union border, as well as support of Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
