July 21, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Anatol Charyton\u010dyk, a senior researcher at the BEROC think tank, has told journalists that he is expecting Belarusians\u2019 salaries to rise at \u201ca bit slower\u201d rate in the second half of the year because of accelerated inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer prices went up 0.9 percent in June, 5.4 percent from December to June, and 7.3 percent in the 12 months to June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf employers need workforce, they have to raise salaries,\u201d he said. \u201cOf course, the financial situation is not the best, but it is not critical. The competition in salaries will gradually slow down, but this year we can expect an overall rise of about 10 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opinion, 2026 will not see the same growth rate. \u201cThese will be single-digit numbers, 1-2 percent in real terms,\u201d Charyton\u010dyk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 median pay rose by 19.3 percent year on year in May to 2,014 rubels ($615).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Average salary rose by 19.5 percent to 2,652.3 rubels in that period, according to data from the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
