{"id":147661,"date":"2025-07-22T11:49:23","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T08:49:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147661\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","slug":"reprisals-two-expat-online-communities-branded-extremist-content","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147661\/","title":{"rendered":"Reprisals: two expat online communities branded extremist content"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>July 22, <em>Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>New cases of politically-motivated persecution were documented in Belarus from July 19 to 21 as the information ministry announced extremist content designations for several social media pages, among them <em>supolka_italia<\/em>, <em>Vitaliy Makarevich Trucker<\/em>, <em>Movements For Freedom<\/em> and <em>miliuk27<\/em>&nbsp;on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other blacklisted pages include <em>Bie\u0142arusy \u016d Litvie\/ Baltarusiai Lietuvoje \/ Belarusians in Lithuania<\/em> on Facebook, <em>BGmedia|Brest|Novosti <\/em>on Threads, <em>Delfi Litva <\/em>YouTube channel, <em>Moy Drogichin<\/em> on Odnoklassniki and<em>&nbsp;vibori_belorusi&nbsp;<\/em>on TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate development, a judge in Hrodna sentenced Mikita Samaryn to six years in prison on charges of violence against a police officer and disobeying prison authorities, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samaryn had left Belarus in 2021 after a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence passed against him but returned later only to be arrested in late March. Rights defenders consider his persecution politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five Hrodna residents went on trial six days ago on charges of facilitating extremism for alleged association with local Telegram chats, with more trials in similar cases scheduled to open soon, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least 50 people arrested in the Bie\u0142aruski Hajun case had been held in custody as of May, according to Andrej Stry\u017eak, who is in charge of the BySol solidarity foundation.
