July 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Warsaw imposed sanctions against the Belarusian Cement Company (BC\u0421) group, according to an updated list on the Polish interior ministry website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BCC was added to the list on July 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document states that the company \u201cdemonstrates significant progress in its activities, including due to the expansion and strengthening of its cooperation with the Russian Federation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BCC was a major supplier of cement to Poland. In 2022, its exports were worth 160 million zlotys, or about $44.4 million at the current exchange rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to cement, the company exported unslaked and slaked lime, as well as wall blocks, to Poland. Several legal entities, including a Warsaw-based BCC subsidiary, purchased the goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior ministry reports that the group\u2019s counterparties still include two companies that, since 2022, have been purchasing goods (slaked and unslaked lime) that are not subject to the import ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document notes that sanctions were introduced against the BCC because the group \u201cclosely interacts and constantly develops cooperation with the constituent parts of the Russian Federation, supplying products that significantly contribute to improving the functioning of the defense-oriented economy.\u201d This leads to \u201can increase in its military potential to continue aggression against Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland will freeze the company\u2019s assets, prohibit the transfer of money or resources to it, and exclude it from public procurement and tenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
