A reminder that independence does not fall from the sky and is not granted forever. It must be protected,\u201d Cichano\u016dskaja said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that a Belarus subjugated to external will is not what lawmakers voted for in 1990, nor is it what citizens need today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe country\u2019s laws should be created in the interests of its citizens, not in the interests of one person or a foreign state. And the future should be determined by the will of the people, not by closed-door deals or behind-the-scenes agreements,\u201d the politician said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe must continue to fight for this free Belarus. Sovereignty and its defense are not a couple of sentences in archival documents, but our goal.
