August 1,\u00a0Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0A prosecutor\u2019s office in Zielona Gora has launched a preliminary investigation into alleged irregularities discovered by a Sejm commission and the Supreme Audit Office in the management of the Polish Business Harbor (PBH) visa program for IT professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Audit Office said that consulate officials might have abused their powers by giving priority to PBH applications since the program had not been officially approved by the Council of Ministers. It suspects that consulates issued 95,115 PBH visas in violation of the procedure stipulated by the law on foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland launched the program in September 2020 to lure IT professionals from Belarus. The PBH was expanded later to include Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
