August 2,\u00a0Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Belarus\u2019 opposition politician had an informal conversation with Minsk\u2019s official representative on the sidelines of last week\u2019s Helsinki+ conference to propose a government-opposition roundtable, Dzianis Ku\u010dynski, a diplomatic aide to \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja, told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ku\u010dynski said he had the conversation in Belarusian with Ihar Siakreta, a deputy foreign minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI told him that we know that within the regime there are many bureaucrats willing to engage, that it is in our common interest and that dialogue and power transition is just a matter of time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja announced on July 15 that her camp is reaching out to officials within the Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka government to engage on solving the political crisis that continues since the 2020 disputed presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Helsini+ conference took place on July 31 and August 1 in Helsinki as part of the Finnish presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
