August 17, BPN<\/em>.<\/strong> Current measures taken by Lithuania in relation to Belarusian nationals are “sufficient” and “balanced,” Delfi<\/a> reported citing Au\u0161rin\u0117 Armonait\u0117, minister for economy and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comment comes amid the ongoing debate in Lithuania on whether Belarusians should be subject to the same restrictive measures as Russians. Restrictions may be related to the issue of residence permits and the right to purchase property in Lithuania among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian businesses that relocated to Lithuania are aware of the debate and fear of its negative consequences, Armonait\u0117 noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lithuania, Poland and other countries have become a new home to companies that oppose Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and are not satisfied with the current situation in Belarus, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vilnius should not scare off these people and throw them out of Lithuania because they decided to leave their homes, some came with their children and changed their lives, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
