August 8, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The Belarusian Exarchate of Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) has complied with the demand by the church\u2019s Holy Synod to reflect its subordination to the Moscow Patriarchate in its official name, the Chry\u015bcijanskaja Vizija rights group reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official name now reads: the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate (Belarusian Orthodox Church).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pozirk<\/em> has found that edits have been made at the websites of individual dioceses, including those in Minsk, Babrujsk, Viciebsk, Homiel, Hrodna, Lida and Mahilo\u016d, as well as M\u015bcis\u0142a\u016d, Navahrudak, Pinsk, \u0141uniniec, S\u0142uck and Tura\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brest, Ma\u0142adzie\u010dna and Po\u0142ack dioceses have not yet complied, and the Barysa\u016d diocese website is not accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, the ROC Holy Synod reminded the Belarusian Orthodox Church that the official name of its Belarusian Exarchate and its \u201ccanonical structures\u201d must contain the elements \u201cRussian Orthodox Church\u201d or \u201cMoscow Patriarchate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
