August 11, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Eight countries outside the European Union have joined its sanctions package on Belarus: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine, the Council of the EU reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These countries will ensure that their national policies align with the Council\u2019s decision. The EU said it \u201ctakes note of this commitment and welcomes it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The July 18 sanctions focus on banning arms imports, export controls and blocking financial transactions. Notably, separate sanctions documents were adopted for Belarus and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU Council deemed it appropriate to introduce additional restrictive measures \u201cin view of the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the Russian aggression against Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision prohibits purchasing weapons or related materials from Belarus. The Council\u2019s enforcement document expands the list of organizations subject to sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They include the foreign trade enterprise Belvneshpromservice, the research and production company OKB TSP, the design bureau KB Unmanned Helicopters, the Legmash Plant, the Scientific and Technical Center LEMT BelOMO, Laser Devices and Technologies, JSC VISTAN and Rukhservomotor LLC (names as received).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
